Instant Pot Turkey Breast

I love roasted turkey in the oven, and for holidays I prefer turkey over ham. With Easter around the corner, I wanted to make a turkey breast recipe and see how my instant pot measures up compared to our oven for making a juicy turkey breast. It’s also nice to not have to run the oven and use the instant pot to cook it faster. For this recipe I used an almost 7 lb bone-in turkey breast. Next time I will get a smaller one and try it in my air fryer!

I used a bunch of seasonings in here so be prepared 😂 For the side, I made green bean casserole, mmm! The turkey has good flavor but it still wasn’t like a roasted turkey. If you like the crispy outer part of the turkey, air frying or roasting would be your best bet. When you cook in the Instant Pot, you also want to make sure that your turkey breast is fully thawed. Ours wasn’t fully thawed so I cooked it a little bit longer and it dried out the turkey some. The gravy made up for the dry parts, so I know for next time that we need it fully thawed. There are recipes out there for cooking a frozen turkey breast, this recipe is for a fully thawed one.

Chicken bouillon, water, sliced onions, garlic cloves and trivet in Instant Pot.
Seasoning mix with olive oil.
Turkey is breast side up in pot, rubbed down with seasoning mix.
All done! Now to slice up.
Place into a 13×9 baking dish so when you slice it, the juices don’t drip all over.
Sliced up and ready to be served. Wait! We need gravy!
Cornstarch and water, whisk up and add to broth.
Mixed in broth, sautéed in pot.
Served up with my green bean casserole and mashed potatoes. Now to be slathered in gravy 😋
