Oh chocolate, I lava you so much! I lava you in liquid form, solid form and liquid/solid form 😍 these chocolate lava cakes I made had the perfect balance of liquid and solid chocolate yumminess! Found the recipe on Food Network under Pioneer Woman’s recipes and it is superb. I made it for my husband and our daughter for Valentine’s Day (and for me obviously too!!).
I made just one modification to Ree’s recipe and it still turned out delicious. Instead of using bittersweet chocolate (because I didn’t have any), I used dark chocolate chips. With prep and bake time, these were done in under 30 minutes. I didn’t want to make a whole chocolate cake just for the 3 of us, so these were a perfect small size to enjoy. I save my egg whites if the recipe only calls for egg yolks (this recipe calls for 3 yolks) and make a yummy omelette the day after. Just put the egg whites in a container with plastic wrap over it and pop it in the fridge until you use them. Hope y’all love these lava cakes just as much as I do! Let me know if you make them too ❤️
